Murray McLaughlin is president of McLaughlin Consultants and consults on the bioeconomy, agriculture and forestry sectors with respect to building the bioeconomy in Canada. He is an advisor to Bioindustrial Innovation Canada on international and government relations. Mr. McLaughlin was the founding executive director of BIC and the Sustainable Chemistry Alliance with a focus on a sustainable bioeconomy. He managed AgSci Cluster, a national bioproducts cluster. He has held various positions in the private, government and non-profit areas such as director of business development for the Canadian Light Source. He managed a VenCap Fund, Foragen, for agriculture and spent 15 years with ELANCO in research and development and marketing. His career has focused on bioindustrial and agricultural technologies - research, development, product management, marketing and commercialization as well as economic development and cluster building.
